build muscle loose fatbuild muscle lose fat

A skinny guy workout for all the ectomorphs out there. This is a huge market that people have tried to exploit and ended up ruining peoples physiques. I have the secrets of the skinny guy workout to gain fat free muscle and lucky for me the guy on the right is my 16 year old brother. He has agreed to listen to every secret about the skinny guy workout which I have to offer and get the body of a male fitness model. A complete leap of faith by him but he has grown up with me and know that I offer solid advice.

Skinny Guy Workout Philosophy

This skinny guy workout plan doesn’t involve excessive eating as bodybuilding suggests, nor does it use a bulk and cut approach.

Take it from me I was once a skinny guy and used the bodybuilding bulk and cut approach. I got pretty big but the majority of that weight gain was actually fat. It is said you can only gain around 25 muslces in a given year, so when you see you have gained a stone in month don’t be delirious thinking this is all muscle, some is but the majority will be fat gain.

The bodybuilding approach then suggests you switch to a toning phase where you are suddenly expected to drop your calories by about 1000 and also do cardio when you have been avoiding cardio in the bulking phase.

Don’t get me wrong, I do slam bodybuilders, not for there work as I do genuinely admire there work ethic and really striving for their passion, but what bugs me is when their information trickles down to guys like me who just wanted to look like a fitness model.

Bodybuilding advice is great for potential bodybuilders, but not for guys wanting the slim hollywood physique. I am sure many others share in my frustration, but lucky for me now I do resemble a fitness model somewhat. But this isn’t about me, this is about my little brother and the rest of the skinny guys out there, so here goes.

Skinny Guy Workout Plans

First off, don’t worry about being skinny. I will be honest and say to you losing fat is alot easier than gaining muscle, but neither is a hard process if you know what you are doing. I would like to discuss a popular skinny guy workout plan which is designed to add alot of muscle mass but then offer you a better solution on how to get muscles.

No Nonsense Muscle Building

No Nonsense Muscle Building is an extremely popular skinny guy workout program. It was made by skinny Vinny, real name Vince Delmonte but that was his nickname before he buffed up. He weighed 150lbs and ended up gaining 40lbs to become a fitness model champion. He carried on bulking up and is now about 210 lbs 10% body fat.

This is a great success story and he has helped many other guys using his skinny guy workout to get big and buff aswell. However, going back to my skinny guy workout philosophy his program just doesn’t sit right with me. The workouts themselves are solid, but the diet is just to excessive suggesting you eat in excess of 5000 calories. You will add muscle using this approach but alot of fat gain just to reiterate my earlier point.

This program uses the bulk and cut approach but one thing it doesn’t tell you is what you are going to look like in between. I can tell you from my own personal experience, the excessive eating and lack of cardio it suggests will leave you with a bigger waist, thighs and butt, poor fitness, a chubby face and needing to buy new clothes which are only going to be worn temporarily as you will drop this excess fat in the cut phase. As I said, if you want to be a bodybuilder then I definitely recommend Vince’s program and you can see it by clicking here.

This leads me to an alternative and in my opinion superior training program I am cooking up.

Visual Impact Muscle Building

Visual Impact Muscle Building was created by Rusty Moore who happened to pioneer this new approach to building muscle. He now boasts an army of bloggers who support his cause including myself. The program won’t make you gain 50lbs of muscle as other programs pray you believe but more like add 15-25 lbs of strategic muscle on the right areas of your body to look like a fitness model much like Taylor Lautner did below.

Experienced bodybuilders on steroids struggle to add 15 lbs of muscle in a year, and beleive when I say going from skinny to adding 15-25 lbs of lean muscle on your chest, shoulders, back, arms, thighs and calves will make you look much better. You will also still look stylish in clothes.

Muscle Gaining Tips for Skinny Guys Like My Brother

Here are my brother stats as of 30/09/2011:

Weight: 123 lbs. Body fat %: 7.7 Lean Body Mass= 113.529 lbs. Fat= 9.471 lbs.

Measurements:
Neck- 32.5cm
Shoulders-101cm
Chest- 84cm
Arms- 24cm
Waist- 70cm
Hips- 81cm
Thigh- 46cm
Calf- 32cm

The skinny guy workout isn’t a reckless program to just add muscle and keep on going until your as big as possible. It uses what is known as the perfect measurements for men which takes your height, and determines your ideal waist size and then your ideal shoulder circumference. Click here to learn your ideal measurements. My brothers ideal measurements are a 81cm waist, and a 132 cm shoulder circumference. This is what is known as the perfect body for men and this is when we will stop and start to maintain this perfect body. Other good proportions to shoot for are your chest circumference to be 26-31 cm bigger than your waist. Arms should be the same size as your neck and your calves and your legs should look proportionate for great symmetry. Using the skinny guy workout he will get there.

[What you get with your download of Visual Impact]

Visual Impact Muscle Building is highly customisable so we will be putting in some Convict Conditioning bodyweight exercises inside the program. He will alternate between phase 1 and 2 until he gets the dimensions he requires. Even though bodybuilding literature may sound correct and even be tempting, I encourage you not to follow this path, excessive eating is never cool when there are people starving in the world and is extremely gluttonous. I have built lean muscle eating 1- 3 meals a day so take that as proof for what it is worth. Look at the fitness models and celebrities, women much prefer this look so instead of trying to add 50 lbs as quick as possible try the skinny guy workout which is designed to make you attractive to women.

  • Good luck. Make sure he stays on a program that you specify. It’s easy for teens to get really eager and start doing stuff you never recommended. It is easy for someone who is eager to over train. Really monitor his workouts so that he really sticks to it.

Like Sam mentions above, make sure your brother sticks with the program.

He’s already at an advantage in that he’s young and he hasn’t put on excess weight. He’s already lean, just needs more mass.

VIMB’s Phase I and II will definitely help him increase his overall muscle size, and once he finally gets the size he wants, he can switch to Phase III and harden his muscles up.

I’m super excited to see how well this works out for your brother. Keep us updated!

He is doing pretty well. I have him doing phase 1 for 2 months and phase 2 for 1 month and keep alternating til he gets his size. He is at about 143lbs now, so has gained 20lbs since september.

  • Cool article Michael. I agree that a traditional bulking workout isn’t going to be the ideal solution for every skinny guy. I personally like the Visual Impact approach much more so than any other of the popular workouts I’ve tried.

That is great progress. Like others have said staying on the program is tough, the other challenge at that age is just eating enough calories to put on lean muscle. Eat!

  • The problem with most people beginning a training program is they want it all before putting in the hard work. If you fall in love with the work, you’ll quickly fall in love with the results. As a trainer, it’s just as important to keep people motivated as it is to write a solid plan.

    Some great info here!
Thanks for showing yourself as an example and looking forward how you progress in the next couple of months!
