Ideal Body Measurements For The Perfect Male Body

This is of course a subjective subject. There isn’t technically a perfect male body with measurements as opinions differ. But an average opinion I reckon would result in an image such as below.

I do find it amusing how mainstream bodybuilders these days don’t resemble Eugen Sandow in the slightest.

They are way too oversized and require anabolic steroids to achieve that look. If you want that look I can’t help you. If you want a body similar to above then carry on reading.

2 Strategies To Overcome A Weight Training Plateau

These are two great tips from Mark Rippetoe’s Practical Programming for Strength Training. Let me use my beginner strength training template as a guide to explaining these 2 great strategies.

 

So using my template, lets use the bench press as an example. This features 3 times a week. As a beginner you may be using the sets across method, for example bench press 3×8 for 50k. When you can perform 3 full sets of 8 overload by adding weight in small increments to the bar. 2.5kg/5lbs is my recommendation.

1 Tip To Avoid Delayed Onset Muscle Soreness (DOMS)

You probably clicked over and thought I would tell you to stretch after your workout to avoid delayed onset muscle soreness right?

Wrong! I have tested stretching and not stretching after workouts and found no difference what so ever.

I am not just getting this info from my personal experience or others but a study which you can read about here.

It is a very long winded paper, so to sum up it concludes that the evidence derived from mainly laboratory studies of stretching indicate that muscle stretching does not reduce DOMS in young healthy adults.

Reverse pyramid training is my go to form of training when burning fat and retaining/building muscle and strength.

 For those like me who haven’t maximised there strength gains and are new to movements like barbell squats and dead lifts this kind of training can perform wonders.

What Is Reverse Pyramid Training Combined With Failure?
